Art minéral

Handmade lampshades and minerals sold straight from the source, gathered by the human behind the shop. The site: built on Elara, sober, alive, fast.

The brief

Art minéral sells minerals, fine stones and lampshades in Chita fabric. The owner buys her stones at the source and writes each description herself; she needed to publish and edit her texts on her own.

I rebuilt the site twice in 2026. In April, I migrated its content from Strapi to an adapted version of the Dobrunia code. In September, the shop moved to Elara in a single switchover.

In use

The home page presents the stones directly, below a photograph of a geode and the line “Lumière en terre minérale”. Collections and sort orders are chosen with chips, and search is available from every page. A stone’s page shows its gallery, its height, its origin and, when the owner has written one, a care section.

For the lampshades, three near-identical product pages became one, with options: fourteen fabrics shown with their photograph, two sizes, an optional base, each option with its price.

The map of origins is specific to the shop. Each stone of known origin adds a pin to it, and a page such as /origine/madagascar groups the stones from one country. A new origin appears automatically on the map and in the sitemap.

Architecture

On the server side, the shop assembles Elara’s modules, pinned to a version, and adds two: collections and the care section. The theme, the logo, the map and the dictionary of places are in the Astro site.

The content is versioned as files in the repository: pages, menus, media, products, shipping grid, email texts. A script loads them into PostgreSQL, and production can be exported back to files at any time.

For the migration, a script read the old site’s public API and rebuilt pages, products, menus and redirects, picking up each of the owner’s edits until the switchover on 13 September 2026. Seventeen permanent redirects preserve the old addresses.

The same map on a phone: it scrolls horizontally, a caption tells the visitor to drag it, and below it each origin appears as a chip with its count (Australie 1, Brésil 9, Madagascar 11, Uruguay 1).

Decisions

Generic code goes into Elara. Every feature useful to another shop went into Elara: galleries, product options, weight-based shipping, customer account. Elara went from 0.6.5 to 0.8.26 in three days, up to the switchover.

The owner edits her pages. She composes her pages from blocks in the admin, at the /admin address she already knew. A ten-chapter guide, with some sixty screenshots, accompanies her.

An identity of its own. The site first reused Dobrunia’s template. On 4 October 2026, it received its own identity: a fine-line crystal logo, the Bellefair and Ysabeau Office typefaces, a five-tone palette (limestone, olive, bark, stone, ink).

Checks on every release. Each release passes the tests and the end-to-end suite (33 scenarios at the switchover), with axe in both themes. Lighthouse gives 100 on desktop in all four categories, and between 96 and 100 on mobile.

Today

artmineral.fr runs on Elara 0.8.50, and the owner manages the content from the admin. The checkout works through to a paid order, with a test payment provider until the shop opens.
